Polka Dot Maples
Check out this picture by Bill's college friend Andy Nelson-Zaleski. The leaves have black spots that are caused by a fungus. The polka dot trees are all over town. It seems to only be affecting a certain kind of Maple. We have one in our yard that has the polka dot syndrome. The Mining Journal did an article on it today: http://miningjournal.net/page/content.detail/id/518515.html?nav=5006

we have a polka-dotted maple in front of our house, too... it's the only tree that most of the leaves are still on... can't wait to rake that up!
