Picture from here.
There are three Ginkgo trees in Marquette that I know of:
1) The south east corner of the Marquette Courthouse
2) Lower Harbor left of the marina building --about 5 trees to the left
3) 1200 block of North Front Street - the south east corner of Kaye and Front
There was a female Ginkgo tree on DePauw's Campus--just outside the library and every fall it would drop berries that would smell terribe! A few years ago they chopped down the big and old tree -- it was probably about 75 years old and stunk every fall that entire time. Hoping the Marquette trees are not female versions.

We had full intentions on going out for dinner on Friday night. We even found a perfect parking spot on Washington Street. We were either going to eat at Aubree's or The Portside. Both had waits longer than we felt like waiting. Instead of waiting we walked into Farmer Q's, picked up some corn, tomatoes, and other veggies and home for BLT's (no lettuce) homemade pickles, and corn on the cob. We make a quick stop at White's for a baguette and beer. While the bacon was cooking I snacked on some tasty pickled beets! :)

Better than a whoopie pie. After the start of the short race of the Ore to Shore and before the long race start we went to Midtown Bakery. I had some delicious gingersnap cookies and Bill had this monster-of-a-treat. It was chocolate cake and vanilla buttercream frosting. We're going back for more one of these days.

Like poppyseeds? This amazing bagel from Huron Mountain (aka Donut Hole) was covered with poppyseeds. Delicious.

For a while I was having dreams of sneaking into our house at 1602 after it was sold to see what the new owner did to it after our family moved out.

Now I have an idea...

You can look if you want to:

The weekend before last Bill and I took a boat across the lake to Grand Island in Munising and biked around the island. This is not the boat we rode over in.

Broccoli from the garden. I made broccoli salad with bacon, bell peppers, red onion, craisins, and dressing. Yum.
